“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Father, I have faith You have the power to help me heal and overcome.
Many times, we fall into the same, reoccurring patterns of sin. We feel like it’s impossible or extremely difficult to change or stop. But God reassures us that we have power against the enemy and the “schemes of the devil.” Paul writes in Ephesians 6:13-18,
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness of the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.”
This is all summed up in Romans 13:12 and Romans 13:14,
“…So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provisions for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”
It is when we are more like Christ, our Savior, we are able to resist or old, sinful ways. When we stand firm in the truth, in righteousness, in the gospel, in faith, in our salvation through Christ, in God’s word, and in prayer, we are able to completely fight against the enemy.
I pray that I would always stand firm in all of these and remind myself of the cross and His love for us. There are no struggles, no matter how difficult or impossible they seem, that I am unable to overcome because of Christ’s sacrifice and His amazing grace. Praise God!
